2014 Highlander2014 has just began and with it comes some great updates to the Toyota lineup. Even though most of the updated 2014 models have been revealed and many are already available to purchase, some vehicles are just making their way to center stage. The 2014 Highlander, which finished up production at the end of 2013, is now reaching dealerships and starting to turn heads. This redesigned 2014 Toyota Highlander fulfills the need for space and comfort but does not overlook the need for style.

The updated 2014 Highlander has looks and much more2014 Highlander

The 2014 Highlander SUV/crossover catches the eye with a new progressive silhouette. The Highlander is sleek and stylish and sports a larger grille and emphasized front end that lead up to a lowered and more sculpted roofline. The exterior appearance of the 2014 Highlander is probably the most noticeable upgrade from previous models. The new roof rails on the Highlander look sleek when going unused but they also play a part in aerodynamics and minimizing the noise from overhead.

The Highlander can seat a crowd and all of your stuff

2014 HighlanderThe 2014 Highlander can accommodate up to eight passengers. Some might fear that this will be an excessive amount of room to devote to passengers, but thanks to smart seating options, it also gives the driver the ability to use the space in different ways. The third row has the ability to fold down to allow for more cargo space while the second row’s middle seat can be removed in order to provide a more comfortable ride and/or ease passage to the rear of the vehicle.

The 2014 Highlander handles

The handling of the new 2014 Highlander is excellent for a larger crossover. The LE base version comes standard with a 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine, but if you are looking for extra power, the XLE, Limited and Hybrid Limited are all powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine. The extra horses of the V6 are an asset to getting that extra push up hills or merging onto freeways. If the road gets adventurous, the Highlander embraces it with Dynamic Torque-Control All-Wheel Drive. This distributes engine power in order to give better driving control. When comparing this to the 4-cylinder engine and the 2014 Highlander Hybrid, the performance and handling will be just as adequate.

No second-rate safety features for the Highlander2014 Highlander

The 2014 Highlander will come with the standard Star Safety System, which includes anti-lock brakes, traction control, brake assist and Smart Stop Technology. However, more safety features are available including a large number of airbags for all seating rows. Toyota wants to ensure not just the safety of the driver but the confidence and peace of mind that go along with knowing he/she is driving a secure and dependable vehicle. New features will include rear parking sonar, lane departure warning, radar-based cruise control, pre-collision system and blind spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert.
